Coming Soon - The Journey of the Golden Brown Seed

There’s something magical about planting a seed as small as a chestnut and watching it grow into a towering tree. For me, this journey is deeply personal—rooted in family traditions and a vision for farming that nurtures both the land and the community.

There’s something magical about planting a seed as small as a chestnut and watching it grow into a towering tree. For me, this journey is deeply personal—rooted in family traditions and a vision for farming that nurtures both the land and the community.

Why Chestnuts? A Mother’s Love ❤️

Chestnuts have always held a special place in my heart, thanks to my Korean mother. Growing up, chestnuts were more than just food; they were symbols of warmth, tradition, and nourishment in our home.

Her love for these golden brown seeds inspired me to dedicate my farm to them. Whether roasted over a crackling fire or featured in savory dishes, chestnuts carry a sense of joy and togetherness I hope to share with others.

As I walk among the young chestnut trees on my farm, I’m reminded of her happiness and the importance of preserving this incredible crop for future generations.

A Regenerative Vision: JADAM Principles 🌱

When I began this journey, I wanted my farming to reflect a philosophy of working with nature, not against it. That’s why I turned to JADAM, a natural farming method that prioritizes ultra-low-cost, eco-friendly practices.

Here’s how JADAM shapes my farm:

1. Natural Fertilizers

Instead of chemical fertilizers, I brew microbial solutions from leaf mold, seawater, and organic materials. These feed the soil, creating a vibrant ecosystem for healthy trees.

2. Pest Management

Using plant-based natural pesticides, I manage pests without harming the environment, allowing beneficial insects and wildlife to thrive.

3. Composting

Every bit of organic waste returns to the soil, closing the loop and building rich, fertile ground for future growth.

JADAM isn’t just a farming method—it’s a way to heal the land while growing food sustainably and affordably.

Expanding the Vision: Hazelnuts, Mushrooms, and More 🌾🍄

While chestnuts are the heart of my farm, I’m building an agroforestry system that thrives on diversity. These crops are an essential part of the journey:

  • Hazelnuts: Perfect companions to chestnuts, hazelnuts are nutritious, quick to mature, and thrive in agroforestry systems.
  • Mushrooms: Varieties like shiitake and wine caps enhance soil health as decomposers while offering delicious, marketable produce.
  • Elderberries and Pears: These fruits bring sweetness, medicinal benefits, and another layer of biodiversity to the farm.

I’m creating a resilient, regenerative system that mimics the forest’s natural balance by intercropping these species.

Why Regenerative Agriculture Matters 🌍

In today’s world, industrial farming often takes more from the land than it gives. Regenerative agriculture offers a hopeful alternative—restoring soil health, building ecosystems, and fostering stronger communities.

For me, farming isn’t just about growing food. It’s about cultivating relationships—with the land, with my community, and with traditions that connect us all.

Every chestnut, hazelnut, and elderberry I plant represents a step toward healing the earth and building a future that respects its limits.

The Journey Ahead 🚜

This farm is my labor of love, inspired by my mother’s joy and driven by a sustainability vision. As I plant each golden brown seed, I’m reminded of the cyclical nature of life—how every act of care comes back, multiplied.

I can’t wait to share more of this journey with you. Stay tuned for updates on how chestnuts, hazelnuts, mushrooms, and elderberries are coming together to create a thriving, regenerative farm ecosystem.

Let’s grow together—one seed at a time. 🌰🌿🍄
